The coming of a new year is always a time of reflection and change.  Some of us may have already broken that new year's resolution while others haven’t even started on yours yet.  The IPA is also working on some resolutions of our own to help you be the best paralegal you can be in 2023 starting with a whole new format for The Lookout. Below you will find some great information and we've even listed our upcoming events so you can see what we have in store with more to be added soon.

Maybe you are thinking about going back to school.  If so, we will be meeting with our Educational Institution Members in February for our Educator's Conference and hope to have a special lunch and learn session with the different degree opportunities available across the state so you can select the program that meets your needs.  Are you thinking about credentialing and getting your CRP, RP, CP, ACP or ILAP?  We will have a session so you learn about the various options offered by NALA, NFPA and the IPA which will allow you to collect information about the various credentials.  Some maybe thinking of changing jobs and we are planning our Career Acceleration Seminar to help you with that job search.   If you are happy in your career or just looking to sharpen you skills and knowledge - we have you covered as well.  Our section chairs are busy planning for upcoming lunch session as well as our Spring Education Conference which will be held virtually over 5 weeks and will have 20 sessions to choose from.  If you have a suggestion for other sessions you would like to see in 2023, please let us know.

Plans for some great social events are also in the works starting with our Virtual Scavenger Hunt on January 12 for your chance to win one of the gift cards so you can treat yourself in 2023!  The Summer Spectacular Boat Cruise came back in 2022 and you can count on that event coming back in 2023!  Our Annual Meeting and elections are coming up in April and if leadership has been on your mind, reach out to me at president@ipaonline.org and we can discuss the myriad of leadership opportunities available.

The IPA has had a long history of being the leading source for paralegals in Illinois and I guarantee, 2023 will be no different.  I hope to network with all of you soon!
